SWVA Opportunity
Jill Branham, co-owner of Haysi’s Main Street Pizzeria and Grill, was awarded the top prize in Buchanan and Dickenson county’s fall 2014 mySWVAopportunity Business Challenge. Branham participated with nine other emerging and existing businesses in a two-month training that resulted in refined or new business plans for each business. “While everyone put in a lot of work,” said People, Incorporated trainer Cindy Green, “the judges were most impressed with Jill’s very specific plans to improve business, customer service, and efficiency.”
Branham was judged on the business plan and her presentation in November. The pitch night and all of the training was hosted at Breaks Interstate Park, and the effort was funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and Wells Fargo.
