Challenger Spotlight: Sandra Lima Argo, LA International Education

Sandra Lima Argo has feet on two continents.  Her business, LA International Education, provides professional and personal enrichment exchanges between Southwest Virginia and Brazil.

“Traveling to an unknown place can be extremely rewarding,” says Sandra, “especially if the trip is structured well. And our region has a great deal to offer.”Liaison America is a business of partnerships! We want to have partners (local businesses and tourist attractions) for the Brazilians to experience the uniqueness of Southwest Virginia!”

Sandra, a Tazewell County resident living in Bluefield, currently runs programs in January and July with groups of 10 students. Her vision is to run programs during10 months of the year. Each group that comes to visit and study spends 2 or 3 weeks. January 2014 will bring a group of 30 students to Bluefield, VA, and in May 2014, a group of students and teachers from Bluefield will spend 2 weeks in a Federal University in Brazil’s Amazon Forest.

“For many, a trip like this can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” says Sandra. “Of course, we hope it isn’t!”
